GHOST CODE 04 RECORD - Geographic File Formatting Requirements
GHOST CODE 04 RECORD
Geographic Formatting specifications that must be followed
Column 3 must contain the number 4
Column 7-15 contains the alphanumeric station number
starting at column 7 and flush left
Column 16-30 contains the station name
starting at column 16 and flush left
Column 40 contains north or south latitude
example N or S, default is N
Column 41-42 contains the degrees of the latitude
Column 43-45 contains the minutes of the latitude.
Column 46-54 contains the seconds of the latitude,
a decimal point is required
Column 55 contains east or west longitude
example E or W, default is W
Column 56-58 contains the degrees of the longitude
Column 59-61 contains the minutes of the longitude.
Column 62-70 contains the seconds of the longitude,
a decimal point is required
There must be "spaces" not "tabs" between the number 4, the number/name, the zone, the ellipsoid height, the easting and northing or latitude and longitude. Tabs are not allowed anywhere in the input records.
